Who Do You Play Yellow For?

Play Yellow is excited to launch the “Who Do You Play Yellow For?” campaign alongside the Memorial Tournament.

Jack Nicklaus wore yellow while golfing to show support for his family friend battling cancer. Play Yellow was started in honor of that idea – making a difference for kids receiving care at local children’s hospitals while playing golf.

Join the movement by posting on social media with the hashtag #IPlayYellowFor and for whom you want to make a difference. Follow @PlayYellow4Kids on Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) to see who is making a difference! Keep an eye out during Memorial coverage for Play Yellow – or find us on the course if you’re onsite!

Who Does Peter Malnati Play Yellow For?

Peter Malnati considers he and his wife Alicia fortunate to have a healthy son. Peter has done numerous visits to children’s hospitals across the country that benefit from the proceeds of PGA TOUR events and gotten to know families whose kids are patients in those facilities.

That’s why Malnati was quick to say yes when asked to become an Ambassador for Play Yellow, a campaign by the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, supported by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus.

“We’ve dealt with little viruses and a fever here and there, but never anything that’s been serious with our little guy,” Malnati says. “But the dreadful thought of having a child be sick and needed to be hospitalized, I would want to know that every research dollar, every resource possible, was available if that was my son in the hospital.

“So, to be able to be a very, very small part of contributing to that body of work that’s going into helping to keep our little ones safe and healthy and give them the best treatment possible; yes, that has taken on a whole new meaning for me since seeing how much my world really does revolve around that little guy.”

Who Does Denny McCarthy Play Yellow For?

Denny McCarthy made his first career appearance at the Masters golf tournament this year and he used the opportunity to honor the life of Madison Smith. A student and member of the golf team at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Madison passed away in October at the age of 16 after a battle with metastatic colorectal cancer. Madison loved rubber duckies and the color yellow, which is why he displayed one on his golf bag at the Masters.*

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is proud to include Denny as a Play Yellow ambassador and to highlight him as he Plays Yellow for Madison at the Memorial Tournament.
