Play Yellow at Indian Wells Country Club

Indian Wells Country Club members swing clubs on fairways Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Dezi Arnaz once walked, earning the club its moniker as the “FUN Club of the Desert.” Soon, the club can add “charitable” to the moniker.

IWCC, located not far from Palm Springs, will host its inaugural Play Yellow Signature Series event on Dec. 12 and 13. The event will feature an opening dinner and auction, followed by a full day of  golf on the Classic Course, the same course that hosted the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic for 46 years. All proceeds from the event will benefit Indian Wells Country Club’s local CMN Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA).

Tournament director Rick Waddell is all about golf. Since getting involved with Play Yellow, Rick helps club members play the game they love and raise the critical funds needed by CHLA.

“I hope we can lay the foundation for a great tournament that can benefit CHLA for years to come with ever increasing donation amounts,” Rick said. “Our goal for year 1 is $75,000.”

You can give your golf game some meaning by signing up to play in this event. If you won’t be in the Indian Wells or Palm Springs area Dec. 12-13, you can still help by sponsoring a hole or making a donation to CHLA here.

Play Yellow Signature Series events raise at least $50,000 for the local CMN Hospital. Signature Series event organizers also receive an invitation to the annual Play Yellow Invitational. This invitation also includes the opportunity to meet Jack and Barbara Nicklaus. Signature Series events can be hosted by individuals, courses, hospitals or companies.
